I Never Leave Your Hands

“..I am trying to understand
How to walk this weary land
Make straight the paths that crooked lie
Oh Lord, before these feet of mine..”

The song “Your Hands”, by JJ Heller, paints a very clear picture of the journeys God takes us on through this life. Most of the time we have no idea why he chooses to do things the way he does, or why he puts us through situations we don’t really want to be in. We think “God couldn’t you have made this easier? Why did things have to happen this way?”, but what we often forget to ponder is if God is putting us through this to prepare us for something down the road that could be even harder. Or to take us somewhere in our relationship with him that we have never been before…something that will test our faith completely, and make us even closer to him than we ever where.

I never usually know why God does what he does, or why he chooses to take me through hard times or situations I never imagined I’d be in….but thats the beauty of it..we don’t understand, we don’t know why…but HE DOES. It takes a lot of faith and a lot of guts to do the hard things, but he calls us to, not for our glory, but for HIS! Sometimes they’re little things, like jumping someones car when you don’t even know them..or picking something up someone else dropped…even smiling at someone can make their day. Or sometimes they’re very, very big things and very big choices we have to make. What ever things God may have us do, or situations he’ll put us in…he uses those times for us to bring more honor and glory to his name!

I constantly have to be reminded of this…that whatever situations God puts me in..he’s right next to me all of the way. He’s holding my world in his hands and I now that if I give everything up to him, he’ll take care of it, because he is God and he always knows what he’s doing and always has a plan!

I love listening to this song because it always gives me peace, and reassures me of God’s love for me, and that he is with me through it all.

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who[a] have been called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
