Hello Everyone! We are so sorry that it has been so long since we updated you!
We’ve both been very busy launching both Youth and Children’s Ministries…. at the same time! It’s been quite the undertaking, but we have really enjoyed the work. Here are some photos!
The Two photos above are of our youth putting together some candy bags for our kids and families within the church. During the month of December we had a breakfast with Santa to connect with other kids in the community! We had such a blast and the kids, who would have guessed, loved the candy!
Here, Rachel is teaching our group of kids a Bible story. We have integrated stories, prayer, and songs into each lesson. We have to do it strategically as we don’t have a separate room from the sanctuary! It can be a challenging keeping them all quiet so we don’t disturb the preaching. Each week we learn a special verse with hand motions to share with the congregation and parents.
It couldn’t be children’s church without a craft! We try to keep the crafts creative and meaningful so that each child remembers the story. One week we made a crown so that we could remember how David was chosen to be the next king by Samuel.
While a lot of these pictures are from our children’s ministry, we also recently started a youth group for our teens. Here is a picture of them quite exhausted from playing glow stick tag, one of their favorite games. Recently, all three of our regular students decided to be baptized!
Finally, we have also been working with the Abundant Life Community Church youth group. In between Christmas and New Years, we spent 3 days and 2 nights at a camp about 30 minutes away from home. We had our own band, preaching, small groups, bonfire, and games! This was the very first time that Abundant Life Community Church has ever done a trip like this, organizing everything by themselves. We both had a blast and loved seeing the impact on each of the students.
Please continue to keep us in your prayers as we serve. God is working through Reaping the Harvest Ministries each and every day to make an impact on his kingdom. This past December we had the opportunity to baptize two whole families multiple other individuals. We will soon have another opportunity this month to baptize another family.
We hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and a great start to the new year!
