Hang on Sloopy (a.k.a. we’re back in Ohio)

Hi guys!
Ben and Rachel here, just in case you forgot who we are! Sorry it’s been a while since our last post!
After we got back from our week and a half of debriefing with WIM, we had a few days in Cleveland and then we were off on vacation with Ben’s family for a week! We ended up going off the grid because there wasn’t an internet connection or cell phone service, hence there was no blog, sorry friends!
Well, we’re back in good ol’ Ohio! Mild summers, fierce winters, home of Sloopy who is still hanging on (we hope). It is definitely nice to be back in a place we are familiar with! Both of us have pretty much been going, going, going, non stop, since we left from Kenya. Lots of switching out suitcases, unpacking, packing again, we haven’t really gotten a chance to settle in yet, but we’re hoping that this week we will be able to! Thankful that we will be able to stay in one place for a while for now!

This Saturday, we are both very excited because we will be having an “Informational Cookout”, where we will be able to talk to our friends and family from Cleveland about some of the things we got to experience and also our future plans! We are very excited to share and also to see people we haven’t gotten to see since we’ve been back!

There’s a quick little update for you all, but now for some pictures!

We got to see our sweet little niece on her birthday! She's TWO!

“YOU’RE BACK??” Though we’ve been away 3 months our munchkin cat, Phoebe, still seemed to remember us!

We had a fire almost every night while we were on vacation. The cabin we stayed at was very nice!

This was an Indian Burial ground called Serpents Mound. Pretty cool!

While on vacation, we got a chance to visit the Cincinnati Zoo! These were called "Sand Cats", never had seen one of these before. They were pretty darn cute!

Another fun thing we got to do was fishing! Rachel's first time as well!

Yesterday we enjoyed an "extra day of vacation" at a baseball game watching the Lake Eerie Crushers (an Independent, Minor League team). Here's a picture of the sisters!

Thank you for viewing the photos! Hope you all enjoyed some snippets of what we’ve been up to!

We also wanted to say thank you, again, to those of you who’ve been following our blog while we were in Kenya! We hope you continue! It means so much to us when someone says they’ve been reading our posts and praying for us, you have no idea how much of a blessing that is to know! Thank you!

God bless you all, have a wonderful week!

-Ben&Rachel

P.S. Props to anyone NOT from Ohio who knows what we’re talking about when we mentioned Sloopy! And of course for those from here……..O.H.!!
