Hope that everyone is enjoying the start to the weekend, and that everyone back home in Cleveland is rooting for the Cavs (woot woot!!)! We can’t watch any of the games because it is 3am normally when they are playing…but we are still cheering them on from Africa!
These past two weeks have definitely not been the easiest for us, especially me, Rachel. Last week I got news that my grandfather was failing, and within the next few hours he was gone. I praise God that Ben and I got to see him soon before we left for Africa, and I believe that now, he is in a much better and joyous place, with Jesus and my grandmother.
The hardest part has been not being able to be with family through this time, but I am grateful for all of the encouragement from people back home and also here, especially from Ben.
Aswell as that I had a fever and was out for a couple days, thankfully it didn’t last too long, and it wasn’t malaria! So it has been a slower week or two but God is good and nothing comes as a surprise to him, even if it might to me!
“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”
This next week, Jenni and Tim will be going to Nairobi to work on some citizenship papers for Kendal (their newborn), Keelyn (their 2 year old), will be staying with Ben and I while they are gone a few days. Prayers for them for a smooth process and also for us as we watch Keelyn would be appreciated!
That’s all folks!
Hope everyone has a great weekend!
